Here is a look into our cute little story ;)
Matt and I met about 4 years ago through mutual friends, and ever since then we were best friends. We would come to each other for anything and everything, including our relationships at the time. He was one of people who got me through the emotional roller coaster, also known as my moms cancer. As time went by we grew a little closer, and when i was all heartbroken over a dumb fling that went bad, he decided to ask me out on a date. I wasn't so keen on the idea, because i didn't want to ruin our friendship....but oh am i glad i agreed! Our relationship as best friends became the best relationship i had ever experienced.
In the early hours of January 6th 2012, Matt asked me to marry him!! I was completely shocked but so happy that he picked me to spend forever with. You know what they say, A girl marries a guy that is exactly like her father. Well you see....Matthew and Mr. Douglas are Twins!!! Everything from the way they talk, eat, clean and sleep is the exact same. Sometimes its un nerving, but i wouldn't trade it for anything. P.S. Matt has amazing taste in jewelry ;) !!
Okay, the hardest part of planning the wedding is picking a date!!! We jumped from date to date, but ultimately choice May 12, 2012. I know, i know pretty quick engagement right? We wanted a special family member to be able to attend for health reasons, but sadly she went home to jesus before we could get married. I am so honored to have met his amazing grandmother before she passed, she was so special to Matt.
May 12, 2012 finally arrived, and it was quite literally the most amazing day for us. Our friends and family went so far beyond what we could have ever dreamed of! Matts sisters were AMAZING!! They decorated almost everything, and poor Kimmy, she had to tie little bows on all of our party favors. But, they did it willingly and without complaining ;) And it wouldn't have been possible without my parents, who get the award for most supportive and loving parents of the year.
I couldn't have asked for a better bridal party! Talk about love!! My maid of honor heather is my best friend and kept me sane throughout our engagement, and was always there to hold my hand. Kailey has been my really great friend throughout my time at Paul Mitchell, and will always be a big part of my life. And, Tiffany and Kaylee have been my best friends since Jr. High. These two have been there for me through the best and worst times in my life, and i am so grateful for them.
I never thought i would be so lucky to have ended up with someone like Matt. He is so very loving, kind, supportive, and caring. And so far, marriage is the best thing that has happened to the both of us, i couldn't imagine life without him in it :) Now here are some of our favorite pictures from the day : )
We have SO many favorites, but of course...way too many to post, so if your my Facebook friend you can go check some out there (there are hundreds)! By the way, look at how much my side of the family has grown!! Wowza!!!
